| EJAC, SC, ST, OBC Confederation deputations call on CM | | | Early Times Reporte Jammu | Feb 1 A deputation of J&K Employees Joint Action Committee called on Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad here today and presented to him charter of their demands. The deputation led by President J&K Employees Joint Action Committee Mr. Abdul Qayoom Wani interalia demanded enhancement of retirement age of government employees from 58 years to 60 years, reduction of qualifying service for full pensionary benefits, release of pending salary and COLA installments of PSU employees, inclusion of five years service as Rehbar-e-Taleem for pensionary benefits, creation of a cell in the secretariat for redressal of grievances of employees, filling up of all vacancies in various departments and revival of Mediclaim scheme. The deputationists included General Secretary J&K EJAC Haji Bashir Ahmad and EJAC Jammu Provincial President Mr. Shakti Gupta. Chief Secretary Mr. B. R. Kundal, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. Anil Goswami, Commissioner/Secretary Finance Mr. B. B. Vyas and Divisional Commissioner Jammu Mr. Sudhanshu Pandey were so present on the occasion. Another deputation of J&K SC/ST/OBC Confederation also called on Chief Minister and apprised him about their demands which included clearance of backlog of posts in recruitment and promotions, restoration of promotion quota for SCs from 4% to 8% and its enhancement for STs from 5% to 10%, fixing of roster point seniority for reserved classes, issuance of caste based certificates to OBCs instead of profession and enhancing reservation quota for OBCs. They also apprised him about the demands of Valmiki and Christian communities. The deputation among others comprised State President All India Confederation of SC/ST/OBC Organizations Mr. R. K. Kalsotra, General Secretary Gujjar United Front Choudhary Shah Mohammad and State President All J&K Gujjar and Bakarwal Students Federation Mr. Shahnawaz Choudhary. Chief Minister gave a patient hearing to the deputationists and assured that their demands would be looked into. |
