Six shops were gutted in a major fire in Sopore town of Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir, a police spokesman said on Friday.
The fire, which broke out in a shop at Zaloora in Sopore about 55 km. from here late on Thursday night, engulfed the neighbouring shops as well, he said.
The blaze could be doused only after hours of fire fighting.
The spokesman said a fire also broke out in a band saw mill at Skara last night causing extensive damage to it.
However, no one was hurt in these incidents, he added. |
