| Expose students to modern scientific education: Mangat | | Says 18 new polytechnic colleges in offing | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Feb 1 Minister for Health and Medical Education Mr. Mangt Ram Sharma has said on Friday, “present is the age of science and technology and we have to expose our students to quality and job oriented education which is must for making them to face the future challenges boldly and bravely”. Addressing a function after inaugurating 3-day celebratory festival organized by Adrash College of Education on its 40th year of completion at Tarore Jammu today, the Minister said that various innovative steps have been taken to modernize and strengthen the education sector in the state. He said besides setting up of 40 new degree colleges, 5 university campuses have been established across the state. The students were getting quality and job oriented education at their doorsteps, he added. Sharma said that technical and professional institutions were also being strengthened and modernized adding that government was contemplating to setup 18 new polytechnic colleges at district levels besides Rs 250 crore would be utilized to upgrade and improve the existing ITIs in the state. The Minister called upon the student community to exert for seeking education and come out with flying colours while graduating in the process of learning. He said that learning is a process which has no end and added that every one remains part of learning process as long as he is alive. Appreciating the role of Adrash College of Education, the Minister said that it was playing a prominent role in imparting quality education since its inception during seventees of last century and congratulated the college management for its missionary role. |
