| Bashir seeks payment of salaries to workers | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Feb 2 Bashir Assad, General Secretary PDP, Youth Wing, has expressed concern over the non-disbursement of monthly salaries to the need-based workers working in different departments and urged upon the government to release the salaries of these workers in order to minimize their sufferings. In a statement issued here today, Bashir Assad said that hundreds of need-based workers and casual labours are without salary for last many months due to which hundreds of corresponding families of poor workers are starving. “There should be a mechanism to employ need-based workers and casual labours and funds should be allocated under appropriate heads’ for salary component. This should be followed by the formal proposals placed by concerned authorities for the engagement of need-based workers/casual labours in different departments like PDD, R&B, PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control, Agriculture, Sericulture, Horticulture JKPCC and other corporations” Assad said and added that the existing method of the engagement of such workers has dismal significance on both the employee and the employer. Assad further said that the need- based workers engaged in PDD are the worst sufferers who are without salary for last one year or so and urged upon the government for release of the same henceforth. |
