| BJP flays PM for pro-terror stance | | | Early Times Reporter

State BJP has accused Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh of thinking in terms of rewarding militants who got killed in encounters with army and para-military forces. “How else should the BJP interpret the latest decision of the Union Government, taken at the behest of Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, that seeks to give a handsome financial package to the slain militants’ dependents,” a press release issued by the party here today said.
It added that the party is of the firm view that this decision is nothing but a manifestation of ‘Muslims First’ policy of pandering to the fanatics and appeasing those who have been maiming and slaughtering the soldiers and innocent civilians and subverting the very institution of Indian State
“Has the Prime Minister ever expressed his concern over the gruesome murder of army and para-military personnel and civilians in the shameless manner he is expressing his sympathies for the dependents of the jahadis? Has he ever expressed his regret over the killings of Kashmiri Hindus and their exodus to different parts of India, where they are leading miserable life? Unfortunately, he has never done so. On the contrary, the Prime Minister and his team of advisors, including the State Chief Minister, have been consistently pampering and appeasing those fanatics who are supporting Pakistan to the extent possible and indulging in slaughter of innocent people. Who have given the Prime Minister the right to misuse the hard-earned Indian rupees in order to finance those who are waging war against India and wrecking havoc every where. The BJP believes that the Prime Minister is pursuing Appease Fanatic Agenda for some minority votes,” the release added.
The BJP had in the last Round Table Conference dissociated itself completely from the Working Committee reports, saying these reports were not only militant-friendly and pro-Pakistan but also anti-Jammu, anti-Ladakh and anti-minorities, especially the community of internally-displaced Kashmiri Hindus. This is the stand of the BJP even today. Hence, the BJP makes it loud and clear that it shall not allow the Congress-led governments at the centre and in the state to implement the dangerous Working Group recommendations.
The BJP wants financial package not for militants and their dependents but a Special Employment Package for the unemployed engineers, Agriculture technocrats, Post Graduates and Graduates and parity in wages between the PHE casual labourers in Kashmir and in Jammu. The BJP wants Special Financial Package not for the militants and their dependents but it wants a package which gives citizenship rights to refugees from West Pakistan, full compensation to refugees from PoK and of the 1965 and 1971 wars and a dispensation as per the aspirations of the internally-displaced Kashmiri Hindus. The BJP wants a package not for those indulging in anti-India activities but for the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and the poor farmers who are suffering on account of the official apathy.
The BJP warns the Prime Minister and his agents in Jammu and Kashmir not to go ahead with their sinister gameplan and place on record its commitment that the BJP would make all sacrifices to prevent the state and the Central Governments from implementing the Working Group recommendations. |
