| People charged more for Hepatitis-B Vaccine; CB registers case | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Feb 2 Crime Branch has registered a case and started investigation against the alleged sale of Hepatitis-B Vaccine at exorbitant rates during the vaccination program in Kashmir in 2000-2001. The Crime Branch received a complaint from a sister agency that Hepatitis-B Vaccine was provided by M/S Wock Hardt (Stockists)through Cecil Pharmaceuticals Jammu for vaccination programme in Kashmir Valley during the year 2000-01, which was promoted by concerned authorities of the Health Department. While the Company charged Rs.1000 for 10 ml vial from Health Services Kashmir, the same company during the same period supplied the vaccine to SKIMS Soura and Director Health Services Jammu @ Rs.690 and Rs.480 respectively. The promotion of vaccination program by the concerned authorities of Health Department at exorbitant rates subjected the common masses of Kashmir Valley to a wrong full loss. The Crime Branch registered a case FIR NO 02/2008 u/s 420,120-B RPC and started investigation. While conducting inquiry into the complaint lodged by Mohammed Zubair Khan s/o Pervaiz Ahmed and Cashier Arjuman Kan s/o Mohammed Amin residents of Azad Basti Natipora, it was revealed that lakhs of rupees have been grabbed by Rajan Bansal R/O Chandigarh and Harindar Singh R/O Nanak Nagar Jammu from the complaints on the pretext of sending them to Canada for job. The victim were given the notion that they are running BFFICA Carrier Junction at BC Road General Bus Stand Jammu and Pinjore Chandigarh and deal with sending people on foreign assignments. Subsequently, lakhs of rupees were collected from them for the purpose but neither any job was arranged nor the money was returned back. The Crime Branch has registered a case FIR NO 05/2008 u/s 4290, 120-B RPC and started further investigation. |
