The reports reaching here said that Ibrahim scored the all important goal in the 76th minute of the match guiding the bank to lift the trophy. The bank team was also presented a cash prize of Rs 50,000. “We played today adopting a special set up of 4-5-1 under a well thought plan to beat the opponent on both attack and defence fronts. After holding the Amity Club to a goalless draw in the first half, the team was in search of a chance which ultimately came our way in the 76th minute,” coach of the bank team, Abdul Majid Kakroo told Sports & Allied News. Finding in David of Amity Club a potential striker, the bankmen had captured him throughout sparing no chance to take control of the ball. “In a strategic move, we totally captured the Amity Club striker David, who scored two goals against BSF Jallandhar in the semi-finals yesterday, so as to disturb their attacking combination. We succeeded in our game plan and won the tournament,” said Kakroo. The team was also accompanied by Zahoor Ahmed Teli as manager and Shahnawaj Ghazi as physio. |
