| Woman shot dead in Doda | | |
Jammu, Aug 25 Militants have shot dead a woman in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir where security forces arrested two ultras and recovered 14 kgs of RDX.
Militants barged into the house of a widow, Yaseen Begum alias Guddi, at upper Dandi village in Bhaderwah town and shot her dead, official sources said today.
Her husband Mukhtiar Ahmed was also killed by ultras about 4-5 years back, they said.
During a search operation in Rajouri district, police unearthed a militant hideout and recovered from it 14 kgs of RDX, 21 electronic detonators and three remote control devices in Gurdanbala area, they said.
Meanwhile, security forces arrested two militants from Jogi Morh in Mendhar tehsil of Poonch district and recovered from them one pistol, two magazines and 16 rounds, they said.
In another incident, police recovered a hand grenade near Regional Research Laboratory Jammu yesterday, they said adding the grenade was later defused by the bomb disposal squad. |
