| Gupta seeks WG to look into reorganization of State | | JSM demands dissolution of Assembly, imposition of Guv’s rule | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Feb 3 To end the present stalemate and the unruly scenes witnessed during the recent session of State Legislature, the Jammu State Morcha (JSM), Progressive has demanded dissolution of the state assembly and imposition of Governor’s Rule in the state. ‘The people have lost confidence in the state cabinet, majority of whom including the Chief Minister, face serious charges of corruption’, the Morcha said adding that a Commission be appointed to investigate the corruption cases against the ministers and the legislators against whom the corruption charges are being leveled and also against all those who have earned huge wealth disproportionate to their legitimate earnings. The Morcha President Prof Virender Gupta in a handout issued today said that apart from Qazi Mohammed Afzal and Tariq Hamid Karra, who have been indicted by the Kundal Report, the Chief Minister himself is equally responsible for the mess in the Forest Department. He also demanded that the counter allegations leveled by the Deputy Minister Muzaffer Baig against the National Conference leaders on the floor of the House should also be investigated by an independent inquiry committee. Strongly condemning the brutal lathi charge on the state government employees, the Gupta urged the Government to accede the demands of the employees at the earliest. While criticizing the recommendations of various Working Groups, Gupta said that ‘if implemented these would encourage terrorism and secessionist forces’. The Working Groups, he said ‘have completely ignored the aspirations of the people of Jammu, Ladakh and Kashmiri Pandits’. The recommendations made provide relief package to the dependants of the militants killed in the encounters with the security forces, he said and alleged that the ‘militants and their families killed are being financially helped by Pakistan and Jihadi forces’. Reiterating its demand for reorganization of Jammu and Kashmir with creation of Jammu region and Kashmir Valley as separate states and granting Union Territory status to Ladakh and centrally ruled Home land for the Kashmiri Pandits, Gupta demanded setting up of a Working Group to look into the reorganization of State, as according to him, this was the only viable solution to meet the aspirations of all the regions and people of the state.
