| Chaman for free and fair polls under Governor’s rule | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Feb 3 Senior BJP leader and former state defence minister Prof Chaman Lal Gupta on Sunday demanded that 2008 assembly poll should be held in the state under Governor’s rule. “We are demanding assembly polls under Governors rule in the state because we feel the coalition government headed by Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad has lost all the moral rights to stick to power”. He said the six year term of the assembly reminds the black day sof emergency and it is time for the cong-PDP govt to move out of the office as it has faile don all fronts. Addressing press conference here in Jammu Prof Gupta said that in order to ensure free and fair elections in the state BJP is demanding Assembly elections under Governors rule. Before the assembly polls the government must go for delimitation of the assembly constituencies. Commenting on the Kundal committee report Prof Gupta said the corrupt ministers continue to occupy the seat of power despite the fact that a high level committee has made it clear that Ministers were associated with the decisions of the senior officials of the forest department. Expressing dismay over the working of the coalition government Prof Gupta said that the congress led coalition govt is denegrading the constitutional authorities including state governor in the state. PDP President Mehbooba Mufti is targeting Governor, first citizen i.e Mayor of the Jammu municipal corporation who is taking out protests against the ruling party and is being stopped by the policemen,it is unprecedented and unheard of. PDP President Mehbooba Mufti had no regard for the constitutional head of the state and had been echoing secessionsists agenda supporting Mushraff’s four point formula. He said it is shameful.Instead of paying tributes to the soldiers for their valor and supreme sacrifice the ruling partners of the congress and some others were always raising accusing fingers against the forces. Warning UPA govt against rehabilitating families of militants Prof Gupta said a lot of emphasis is being laid for rehabilitation and helping the relations of the killed ultras. But it is unfortunate very little is being done for the rehabilitation of the those who were victims of massacres and brutal killings by the terrorists. The senuor BJP leader also ridiculed the ruling coalition for making mockery of the state legislature where leaders made contradictory statements over introduction of bill on delimitation of constituencies.
