| ITBP lifts fourth Lalok Running Ice Hockey C’ship | | | Early Times Reporter

ITBP lifted the 4th Lalok Running Ice Hockey Championship by defeating Lalok Sporting club by 7 goals in the final match palyed at Tangtse today. About 7 teams had participated in the competition.
While In Women Ice Hockey Tournament, the SEOMOL Girls grabbed the Lalaok Women’s cup defeating Ex-serviceman’s women team by 2-0.
Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Leh Chering Dorje was the chief guest at the final
Day function while Brigadier 114 Inf. Surinder Singh was the guest of honor.
Addressing on the occasion, Cheering Dorje appreciated the Lalok sporting club for holding such a well organized tournament for both the men and women in this far off region. Lalok has been contributing a lot in promotion of winter games especially for the Ice Hockey in Ladakh stated Dorje.
Referring the talent of Ladakhi Youth in winter games, Dorje said that players from Ladakh representing J&K State presently participating in National Winter Games at Gulmarg Kashmir and he was much hopeful that our players besides carning fame for the state would also fetch name for Ladakh in National games.
Praising the girls of Lalok region for taking keen interest and developing skill in winter games, Dorje said that involvement of women section in games would lead them to overall development in their life. He encouraged the women to come forward in all kind of sports activities and said that LAHDC would provide due assistance to them in all fields.
Later the chief Executive councilor and the Brigadier gave away trophies to the winners and runners up teams and also gave prizes to all the participating teams.
