Monograph on Rajouri-Poonch politics released
Mangat praises secular character of Poonch, Rajouri

Minister for Health and Medical Education Mr. Mangat Ram Sharma and Minister for Finance and Housing Urban Development Mr Tariq Hameed Karra released a monograph titled "Rajouri-Poonch politics at a glance" written by Advocate Tahir Khursheed Raina at an impressive function here today.
A large number of people from various walks were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Health Minister while appreciating the efforts of writer to depict political scene in historical prospective of twin districts of Rajouri and Poonch, said that various far-off and hilly areas had remained behind in development process for decades together. He said when present government took over the reins of the state, it focused its full attention towards the development of the state especially on remote and hilly areas. He said various revolutionary and exemplary steps have been initiated for speedy development. He said setting up of new administrative units, educational and upgradation of health institutions across the state was an historic step for speedy development of neglected areas like Rajouri-Poonch.
Sharma said tourism besides trade and commerce would get a new fillip in the area after completion of Mughal road, adding establishment of Baba Ghulam Shah University is catering to varied educational needs of the students of these twin districts besides those from outside state are getting quality and job-oriented education.
Appreciating the role of the people of Rajouri-poonch for strengthening the bonds of brotherhood, amity and communal harmony, the Minister said that they always stood against the enemies and never allowed them to succeed in their nefarious designs.
Finance Minister in his speech wishing the author of the book good luck in all his endeavours present and feature, said that it is a fact that Rajouri-Poonch districts remain deprived in development under last regimes. He said coalition government succeeded to change the developmental profile of far-flung and down trodden areas by its pro-people policies. He said the areas like Rajouri-Poonch are marching fast towards all round development. He said education is playing a pivotal role for making a state prosperous and government has focused its priority attention on this sector. He said thousands of new educational institutions have been opened in every nook and corner of the state for facilitating the students to provide education at their doorsteps.
Karra said that the doors for development were closed to the people of far-off areas like Rajouri-Poonch by previous governments. He said the coalition government has given its focused attention towards the construction of infrastructure in all sectors in remote areas.
Vice-Chancelior Baba Ghulam Shah University Mr.Masood Choudhery and President Jammu Bar Association Mr.B.S.Slathia also spoke on the occasion.
