Gharu gives ear to Gujjars, Bakarwals

Asserting that Azad-led Government was committed to provide all basic amenities to uplift the socio-economic status of the Gujjars, Bakerwals and other tribal people across the state by providing healthcare, drinking water, road connectivity, electricity, schools and colleges.
This was stated by the Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Agriculture, Cooperatives and R&B, Ch. Gharu Ram while addressing to Gujjar and Bakerwals at Jora Farm in Suchetgarh here today after assessing the problems confronting the tribals. He said that for early mitigation of the problems of these people, a separate Directorate of Tribal Affairs has been constituted by Azad led government last year.
He said that various revolutionary measures have been taken to upgrade the basic amenities of all sections of the society. He said that aspirations of the people are being fulfilled by the present government under a well evolved Pro-people policy. He asked the officers to re-double their efforts and complete all ongoing projects within prescribed time frame. He apprised that maximum commitments made to the people of Suchetgarh town have been fulfilled.
A large number of deputations and individuals met the Minister and putforth their demands including allotment of Jora Farm land to 96 Gujjar and Bakerwal families for agriculture purpose, repair and renovation of interior lanes and drains, upgradation of Government Primary School Jora Farm, educated unemployed youth recruited under SSA, 100-day wages job card under NREGA to unemployed youth, construction of crates along Aik nallah at Jora Farm, blacktopping of Jora Farm-Chakroi village link road, installation of poles in left out villages of Jora Farm.
Responding to the demands, the Minister announced Rs. 1 lakh for repair and renovation of interior lanes and drains of Jora Farm. Regarding construction of creates along Aik nallah and Jora Farm-Chakroi link road, he asked the concerned authorities to prepare the estimate and submitted for funding so that the work to be started soon. On the demand of locals, he asked the PHE authorities to install three tap water posts at Jora Farm for the benefit of people.
