Jammu | Feb 4
The 300 kilometer long Jammu-Srinagar National Highway opened, though partially, for vehicular traffic on Monday evening.
Hundreds of vehicles stranded along the highway were cleared after the BECON officials cleared the road from the fresh landslides, official sources said.
"All the passenger vehicles, stranded between Ramban and Udhampur stretch, were cleared by this evening", he said adding, "If the weather remains favourable, the road is likely to be thrown open for vehicular movement on Tuesday".
The vehicular moment on the Jammu-Srinagar National highway was suspended following shooting stones and landslides at Panthal and near Jawahar tunnel triggered due to fresh snow fall in the region.
"Road clearance was being hampered due to the fresh snow fall in Jawahar Tunnel and Patni Top but as the weather improved today the road was cleared".
