| Industrial estates given new fillip; Jora | | Rs.14.48 cr Udhog Bhavan at Jammu coming up fast | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Feb 4 Various steps have been taken up under state and central sponsored schemes to give more fillip to the industrial estates of the state. This was stated by Minister for Industries and Commerce Nawang Rigzin Jora while chairing a high level review meeting of officers of the SIDCO, SICOP and Industries and Commerce department here today. Jora said that work on three industrial projects have been taken in hand at a total cost of Rs. 15.55 crore, which on completion would generate employment to skilled and unskilled youth at a larger scale. Minister of State for Industries Dr. Romesh Chander Sharma, Commissioner/Secretary Industries and Commerce Lokesh Jha, Managing Directors SIDCO and SICOP and Director Industries and Commerce were also present in the meeting. At present seven industrial units of SICOP are functioning in the state, involving total investment of Rs 251 crore and providing employment to over 7000 persons of the state. The meeting was informed that work on seven storey Udhyog Bhavan at Jammu is in progress for which Rs 14.48 crore have been earmarked while land has been acquired for establishing of nine more industrial estates of these four new industrial estates have been proposed for Bidda (Reasi), Thanda Pani (Rajouri) and Arnore Ghat (Doda) for which 1050 kanals of land has been identified. |
