Early Times Reporter Jammu | Feb 5 Bringing laurels to the state, the Jammu and Kashmir boxing team won eight bronze medals in the recently held 15th North Zone Senior men’s Boxing Championship held at Samrala in Punjab. Four of the medal winners belong to Jammu and Kashmir Police boxers, who represented the state in the North Zone competition. They were Ct. Aman Sangral, Ct. Vikas Narwalia, Raman Sharma and Sunil Sharma (both SPOs). Remaining four medals were won by Mohd Kaleem, Harvinder Singh, Joginder Sharma and Deepak Sharma. “The boys have done exceptionally well this time winning highest ever medals tally at the North Zone level,” coach of these budding boxers, Satyakam Sharma told Sports & Allied News. Meanwhile, on their return the medal winners were felicitated by the J&K Amateur Boxing Association. The team, accompanied by by the general secretary of the Association, Dr Nirmolak Singh, also called on the Sports Officer, J&K Police, Faisal Qureshi (DySP). |
