| Holding of Amarnath yatra on Kedarnath, Badrinath pattern sought | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Feb 5 To prevent occurrence of any sacrilegious act inside the Amarnath Cave shrine Shri Amarnath Yatra Welfare organization has urged chairman of the Amarnath Shrine Board Governor SK Sinha to conduct the annual pilgrimage to cave shrine on the pattern of Badri Nath and Kedar Nath yatra. Besides this the welfare organization has also appealed to the chairman to curtail the duration of the yatra by allowing the darshan between Gurupurnima and Raksha Bandhan. “The door of Amarnath yatra should be opened on the Gurupurnima day by the religious guru and closed after the conclusion of the yatra before its opening by the religious guru to avoid any sacrilegious acts that were committed last year”, a resolution passed by the Shri Amarnath Yatra welfare organization during its general body meeting in New Delhi stated. Another resolution stated that extending period of the yatra create difficulties not only for the NGO’s providing community services to the devotees but involves wastage of money on security related expenditure and hence should be curtailed as per the religious calendar. Delegates from Punjab, Haryana, J&K, Rajasthan, UP and Delhi participated in the meeting and also passed a resolution favoring waving off fees for setting up langars and community kitchens. During the meeting National president of the welfare organization Rajinder Sharma, Chairman Amar Pal Sharma and general secretary Ravinder Sharma were present. The resolution adopted by the Shri Amarnath Yatra welfare organization also noted that since Central govt is providing subsidy to Haj pilgrim so similar lines the fees charged by the anarnath shrine board should be waived off. The members of the welfare organization also favoured that landing facility for helicopters should be provided at a distance two kms away from the cave shrine. The members of the association also passed a resolution urging Chairman to give permission to religious heads to organize their Katha parvachan during the yatra so that the devotees should also take advantage of the Katha . |
