| Abdullah's reported remarks briefly disrupt RS proceedings | | | New Delhi, Aug 25: Ruling Congress party today briefly disrupted proceedings in the Rajya Sabha on the issue of reported statement by National Conference leader and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah on release of a LeT terrorist by the NDA government.
As soon as the House met for the day, Rajeev Shukla wanted to raise the issue but Chairman Bhairon Singh Shekhawat disallowed him and ruled that nothing would go on record.
Shukla was joined by his colleagues including party's chief whip V Narayanasamy.
Farooq Abdullah, a member of the Rajya Sabha, was not present in the House when the issue was raised.
Shekhawat said he would not suspend question hour nor permit Shukla to speak.
After a few minutes of disruption, the house resumed business taking up listed questions.
