| BJP accuses UPA of being soft towards 'terrorists' | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Feb 5 The Jammu and Kashmir Bhartiya Janta Party unit has accused UPA of being soft towards elements responsible for the killings of innocent people and anti-national activities in the state. Parties state president Ashok Khajuria, who was addressing the working Committee meeting criticized the Congress-led UPA, which is contemplating to give a special package to the state to rehabilitate families of slain militants. He said such a move on part of the UPA, at the behest of the State's coalition government, should leave no one in any doubt that the Congress is soft to the forces who are enemies of the country. He said the people who really deserve special packages are the West Pakistan Refugees, refugees of 1965 and 1971, unemployed educated youth, the Kashmiri Hindus who migrated from valley to escape their physical liquidation, members of SC and ST communities who still need special attention and poor and marginal farmers whose crops damaged due to heavy rains or droughts. He took the Congress to task for its complete silence over the demand of separate currency as put forth by the PDP leader & Finance Minister Tariq Hameed Qarra. He said it is an act of sedition and any one involved in such a heinous crime should be put behind the bars. He said the policies being adopted by the Congress-led governments at the centre and in the state are highly communal in nature and are posing threats to the very survival of the nationalist people in the state. He said the days of the coalition in the state are numbered as the people have made up their mind to throw them out of power in next elections and bring BJP in power to mitigate their sufferings and end to 60-year discrimination with Jammu and Ladakh regions. |
