| Mula Ram inaugurates 'Cultural Exchange Programme | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Feb 5 Minister for Rural Development Mula Ram today inaugurated 'Reciprocal Rural Youth Cultural Exchange Programme', a cultural event providing a spectacle to the wide-ranging cultural landscape of India with youths from various states of the country participating in the program. The cultural event organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra witnessed a cross section of rural youth hailing from as far as North East, West and southern parts of the country presenting items depicting the local culture of their respective areas and states. The cultural bonanza was organized with the aim to make participating youth understand the composite culture of the country. The state Tourism department also played a documentary on the occasion to intimate the invitees about the attractive places of the state. Speaking ion the occasion Minister for Rural Development appreciated the organizers for holding such a mega cultural event. He said organization of such cultural exchange programs is imperative need for infusing the sense of national integration among the youth. He said India is world wide recognized for its distinctive feature of being a country with unity in diversity. Calling upon youth to hold high the rich traditions of India, he said history bears the testimony to the fact that the strength of India lies in its composite culture. He said "National integration should precede regional considerations as only then we can see our country progressing on all fronts" The Minister also interacted with the participating youth who had come all the way from all parts of the country. |
