Babu Singh for moral education in schools

Asserting that education is key to speedy socio-economic transformation, Minister of State for Power Babu Singh has said that government has put development of education related infrastructure on fast track especially in far-flung and rural areas for achieving integrated progress in all the fields.
This was stated by the Minister at annual function of Minerva Public School, Kathua the other day. He asked private educational institutes to relax the fee structure for accommodating the unprivileged students.
The Minister asked the educational institutions to impart moral education to the students to make them responsible citizens of nation. Referring to mounting increase in number of students passing out from professional colleges, the Minister said that the number of employment opportunities have not multiplied at the same rate in the state.
He said that youth should opt for setting up of income generating units for which the government is providing various incentives. All nationalized and scheduled banks are providing financial assistance with substantial component of subsidy to the unemployment youth the Minister maintained.
The Minister also said that present era is an age of science and technology and we have to expose our students to quality and job oriented education to meet challenges.
The Minister emphasized the need of healthy competitions between the students of government and private institutions through organization of competitive events in various fields. He said this would also instill a feeling of confidence and self-worth amongst the students of government schools. He also suggested the school administration to evolve a system of lessoning the burden of school bags for the tiny tots.
Appreciating the role of private institutions especially Minerva Public School, the Minister said that it is playing prominent role in imparting quality education.
SSP Kathua S. J. P. Singh also spoke on the occasion.
Earlier, cultural colourful programme was presented by the students of the institute on the occasion.
The Minister also distributed trophies among the meritorious students.
