| Mainstream party funding 'Tukday Tukday Gang's' anti-BJP visit to Kashmir | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 17: Even as some members of the "Tukday Tukday Gang" from the JNU are presently camping in Kashmir and running a hate campaign selectively against some leaders from the ruling BJP, a regional party allegedly hosts the visitors.
Source said the PDP leadership has inputs that the coterie of youth leaders from JNU came to Kashmir on the invitation of a party in opposition.
Sources said the regional party hosted one of the "youth leaders" in proxy through a local NGO that is getting "huge funds from various financers."
Sources said the NGO, run by activists associated with the political party, had sponsored the trip and offered them accommodation at a hotel.
"There's a huge funding behind all these activities. The party and the NGO have also minted millions in the deal," the sources said.
Sources said one of the female members from the "Tukday Tukday gang" had accepted the invitation of a regional party to join them but has sought time.
Sources said this youth leader had told the party leadership that she needs time to show her presence on the ground before joining the party.
While the leader has been holding small rallies, the party is allegedly funding her moves. "Even the local activists who move along her are being paid good apart from refreshment at costly restaurants," the sources said.
Sources said though PDP leadership had got to know about the gameplan of the rival party, the twin parties have amicably decided not to target each other over such activities.
"But this youth leadership is trying to spread venom against BJP alone," said a source close to the developments.
Sources said the collation ally BJP has been briefed about the development, while the government is likely to seek probe into funding of such activities.
"Their funding is a serious issue and it needs to be probed," said an official. |
