| PNB to connect all branches with CBS | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Feb 6 Punjab National Bank (PNB) has embarked upon an ambitions plan to put all branches in state on National Network of Centralized Banking Solution (CBS) by March 2008 and also to link these branches with other banks for National Electronic Fund Transfer (NEFT) system. Disclosing this Zonal Manger., PNB, Vivek Arya informed that branches in remote areas shall be linked to national network with DOUBLE VASAT connectivity while lease line and ISDN medium provided by BSNL shall be used for city and district headquarter branches. He also informed that entire banking in the state shall be made STATE OF ART with Biometric ATM availability for rural and illiterate clientele very shortly. He also informed that NEFT SYSTEM for inter bank remittances shall do away with told system of purchasing bank drafts. He disclosed that for customers of the bank. He further added that NEFT is an application by which customers can transfer funds same day from one bank to another bank in India in an efficient, secure, economical, reliable and expeditious system through RBI NEFT server at Mumbai. He further informed that the bank proposes to install more ATMs and cash dispensers centralize services by opening back office hubs and also broaden internet bank account users base in the state. |
