Two days national level Science seminar held at GDC Samba

SAMBA, Apr 20: The two days national level science seminar began on Friday at Govt. Degree College Samba in district samba here today.
The Seminar is being organized under the aegis of the Indian Science Congress Association, Kolkata and on the theme "Science and Technology for the Unreached: Notions, Values and Applicability". The inaugural session of the seminar was attended by the top brass of the Indian Science Congress Association, Kolkata, the most prestigious and one of the oldest Science Societies of India and witnessed by a huge gathering of scientists, researchers, teachers and students from within the state and other parts of India. Prof. A.K. Saxena, Former General President, ISCA & Member Executive Committee, ISCA was the Chief-Guest during the Inauguration while Dr. Manoj Chakrabarti, General President, ISCA was the Guest of Honour.
The inaugural session started with lighting of traditional lamp by the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour, who were accompanied on the stage by Prof. Vijay Lakshmi Saxena, Former General Secretary & Member Executive Committee, ISCA, Prof. M.K. Jyoti, Former Member Executive Committee, ISCA and Fellow Sir Aushutosh Mukherjee Fellowship, Prof. K.K Sharma, Convener, ISCA Chapter Jammu & Sectional President, Animal, Veterinary and Fishery Sciences, Dr. Lakshmi K. Rao, Scienctist, CCMB, Hyderabad, Dr. G. S. Rakwal, Chief Patron for this seminar and Principal, GDC, Samba and Dr. Ranvijay Singh, Organising Secretary of the Seminar. Lightening of Lamp was followed by a prayer to Maa Saraswati presented by students of GDC, Samba.
Speaking on the occasion, Guest of Honour of the programme, Dr. Manoj Chakrabarti said that events like these provide a common platform for researchers, teachers and students to discuss and deliberate on how the science can be put to the use for those who have long remained ignored and unreached due to their geographic backwardness.
