| Vikram-Vipul brothers help MAM retain Badminton title | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Feb 7 State top seed Vikram Saini and younger brother Vipul Saini today helped Government MAM College retain the inter-college badminton trophy beating the combined side of Post Graduate (PG) Departments of University of Jammu 3-0 at Gymnasium Hall of the University here today. Although the victory of MAM College was certain in the presence of state champions, yet PG boys put in best of their efforts to salvage some pride. In the singles matches, Vikram defeated Atul Verma 21-13, 21-9 while Vipul outplayed Opinder Pal with identical score of 21-1, 21-9. Later, in doubles, Vikram and Vipul trounced the pair of Ashwani Kotwal 21-10, 21-12 to win the final. The title clash was witnessed by a healthy crowd of supporters from MAM College and PG Departments. The final was officiated by Vikram Jamwal and Ravish Vaid under the supervision of Ramesh Magotra of Department of Physical Education. Earlier, Director Physical Education, Prof Lokesh Verma was introduced with the finalist teams. He was accompanied by officials of the Department of Physical Education and Physical Directors of different participating colleges.
