| CJ inaugurates National Judicial Workshop | | Says delay in justice weakens faith of people in Judicial Process | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Feb 8 Chief justice of Jammu and Kashmir High Court Mr. Justice K.S Radhakrishanan has called upon judiciary to ensure speedy, quality and inexpensive justice to litigants, adding that justice would be a casuality in a delaying system as it weakens the faith of people in judiciary process amongst the masses. . Justice Radhakrishanan was addressing legal luminaries of national repute at Jammu University, after inaugurating National Judicial Academy's 3-day Regional Workshop on Techniques and Tools for Enhancing Timely Justice. Asking for disposing off pending cases at earliest, Justice Radhakrishanan impressed for adopting reconciliation measures as recommended by Supreme Court of India for enhancing quality justice and saving time, energy and money of litigants. The inaugural session was also addressed by Director, National Judicial Academy, Professor (Dr.) G. Mohan Gopal, Mr. Justice Hakim Imtiyaz Hussain and Mr. Justice G.M Dar, Mr. Justice Nissar Ahmad Kakroo, Mr. Justice Nirmal Singh, Mr. Justice Varinder Singh, Mr. Justice Y.P Nargotra Mr. Justice J.P Singh and Mr. Nazir Fida was also present in the workshop. Giving resuming of the workshop, Mr. Justice Hakim Imtiyaz Hussain said that around two hundred judges from district judiciary of High Courts of Allahabad, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir,. Punjab, Haryana and Uttranchal were participating in the workshop. He said that the vision of national judicial education was to hold such a significant national workshop to enhance qualitative and timely Justice. He said Jammu and Kashmir was the second venue selected for the purpose. |
