| Hakeem for early clearance of snow in Budgam | | Asks DDC to monitor prices | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Feb 8 Minister for Transport, Public Grievances, Stationary and printing Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen has expressed deep concern over the loss of public property due to the heavy snowfall in the state especially in Kashmir division. Hakeem Yaseen has directed the District Development Commissioner Budgam to gear up its men and machinery to restore the essential services like road connectivity, drinking water, power supply in the district on war footings. He also asked the district administration to ensure plying of public transport across the district smoothly and intensify snow clearing operations by all available resources. Yasen said that upper belts of the Budgam district have experienced heavy snowfall adding that the roads leading to these areas must be restored as early as possible. The Minister said that presently adequate supply of food grains were available in the district, however, the distribution system needs to be streamlined. For the purpose he called for keeping close vigil on shopkeepers and business establishments to check hoarding and black marketing. He asked the concerned Deputy Commissioner to take all measures to ensure that people did not suffer on account of disruption in supplies. He also asked the district administration to keep constant vigil on prices of commodities. He also directed to ensure that district and sectoral officers remain available at their respective stations to meet any eventuality. He also asked for strengthening coordination among all the officers and take on the challenge thrown by heavy snowfall with coordinated efforts. |
