Usha Kaul, a hapless lady, and mother of ailing Vipul Koul, who is suffering from ‘Growth Hormonal Disease’, has made a passionate appeal to the Chief Minister for his personal intervention in getting her husband’s medical claim bills settled at the earliest to save the life of his son who has undergone an emergency surgery.
Expressing her serious concern and dismay over the way the Finance Department has rejected the claim, the hapless lady, who is in distress due to her son’s ailment, has alleged that the Government is deliberately avoiding settling the pending claim of her husband, who is a government servant.
Maintaining though ‘Growth Hormone Disease’ is a life consuming disease and the drugs required for the disease is life saving, as confirmed by the SKIMS Soura and AIIMS New Delhi, still the State Government was stating that this does not fall under rules. She said that in the past too the government has reimbursed the medical claims to the beneficiaries of the government employees suffering from the same disease.
In a communication addressed to the Commissioner/Secretary to Government Finance Department and copy thereof endorsed to the Chief Minister, the hapless lady has asked ‘as to how much she has to pay bribe that too at the higher level officers for settlement of the claim and alleged that the concerned authorities were deliberately and willfully playing with the life of her child’.
Usha Kaul, in a handout released to the press today, alleged that the State Government is willfully disobeying the instructions from the Union Home Ministry and the recommendations of the Supreme Court in settling the pending claims only because ‘she is a Hindu, a true patriot and a nationalist’.
