| Better medicare for snow hit sought | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Feb 9 BJP has demanded shifting of patients from severely snow effected areas in Ramban-Doda and Kishtwar district to the district Hospital for providing them adequate medicare. The party also urged that special teams alongwith adequate medicines should be sent to the snow bound areas to provide medical treatment to the needy. The BJP also stressed upon the administration to take quick steps to air lifting of stranded passengers at Jammu belonging to these districts. The State BJP General Secretary & former MLA Ramban Bali Bhagat emphasized for air dropping of ration, woolens, blankets and other essential commodities in the unprecedented snow hit areas to provide immediate relief to the affected population in the erstwhile Doda district. The areas includes Dessa, Kuddhar, Gurmul, Dhandal, Zaran, Ghari, Kumait, Ganot, Sanasar, Kastigarh, Padder, Marwah and Dacchan. He also pleaded for restoring Batote Kishtwar National Highway and other link roads on war footing to ensure supply of essentials like food-grains, LPG, Kerosene Oil, Vegetables etc. Similar measures need to be adopted to restore power and water supply affected since week to these areas. The former MLA suggested that joint teams of various departments be constituted forthwith to assess the quantum of damage suffered to houses, crops, agriculture land, archeds, fodder trees and live stock to ensure speedier providing of compensation to the affected people. |
