| SPJP highlights demands of Shia community | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Feb 9 Shia Federation Jammu Province (SPJP) criticized the coalition government for neglecting the Muslim minority community of Shia's in the Jammu province and demanded establishment of Shia Advisory Board besides construction of girls hostel and scholarships for the community students. Addressing in a press conference here on Saturday, SPJP president Ashaq Hussain Khan lambasted coalition government for its callous attitude towards this minority section of the Muslim community in the state. Demanding that government should immediately constitute Shia Advisory board in the state as par of Gujjar –Bakerwal and Scheduled Caste Advisory Boards, which is a long pending demand of the community, he said. Decrying state government for ignoring Shia community in Jammu region, Khan said that this community has not been given any representation in political spheres of the state and also in the administrative structure of the state. He further demanded compensation for the community members of Ramban and Chanderkote whose land came under widening of national highway. The SPJP president further demanded construction of girls hostel and scholarships for the community students across the state besides asking for inclusion of Shia dominated areas of Poonch district in the RBA category. |
