| Cricket: NCC trounces Patel Club in President Cup | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Feb 9 National Cricket Club (NCC) today registered an impressive 73 runs victory over Patel Cricket Club (PCC) to enter into the next round of ongoing President Cup Cricket Tournament at GGM Science College hostel ground, here under the banner of Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association. First the trio of Pranav Mahajan, Manish Dogra and Parveen Singh helped NCC set a competitive total of 165 runs for six in 40 over and later Inderjeet, Parveen Singh and Pranav clinched two wickets each to bowl out PCC for a small total of 92 in 29.2 over. Pranab was top scorer with 43 runs while Manish and Parveen Singh contributed 34 and 23 runs respectively. From PCC, Arun Sharma took too wickets for 54 runs in six overs while Lucky bagged one for 21. In reply, PCC made a poor start losing early wickets. The under pressure batsmen could not control their nerves and lost wickets in regular interval thereby making an end to their innings on 92 in 29.2 over. Madan Choudhary remained the top scorer with 15 runs, followed by Sunny and Madan with 12 runs each. Pranav, Inderjeet, Parveen Singh took two wickets each from NCC while Sanjay Sharma took one. In today’s match Brij Mohan Sharma and Raman Dogra were umpires. |
