Vakil distributes sewing machines among 68 SC beneficiaries

Minister for Social Welfare Mr. Abdul GaniVakil has emphasized the need on identification of all genuine beneficiaries under social security schemes to achieve the goal of uplifting targeted groups expeditiously.
He was addressing beneficiaries at community hall in Old Janipur after distributing 68 sewing machines among Scheduled Caste (SC) beneficiaries here on Saturday evening.
The multipurpose community hall has been constructed at a cost of Rs 12 lakh by Social Welfare Department to facilitate celebration of varied social functions including marriages of the inhabitants in the area.
The Minister desired to establish vocational training centre in the community hall to impart market oriented craft education to the girls of weaker sections to promote self-reliance in them. In this regard, he asked DSWO Jammu to submit a comprehensive proposal indicating crafts with income generating potential.
