| Compensation to snow affected people demanded | | | Early Times Reporter

The JKPCC general secretary and MLC, Ashok Sharma demanded immediate snow clearance from roads in Poonch and Rajouri districts to restore connectivity and rush foodgrains and other essential commodities to the far flung areas of twin border districts.
The MLC also pleaded for restoration of power supply on war footing in Khawas, Badal and other heavy snow affected areas in both the districts along with dispatching of medical teams to snow bound pockets with sufficient quantity of medicine for providing on spot Medicare to the needy.
He further demanded for the constitution inter departmental teams of officers to asses the quantum of damage caused to houses, standing crops, orchards, cultivable land and live stock due to unprecedented snowfall in Rajouri and Poonch districts and the formers sufferers be provided cash compensation without any delay. |
