| Second phase of project ‘Safe J&K’ launched | | ‘Violation of law could lead people in trouble’ Jamwal | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Feb 10 President State Criminologists Society, Rameshwar Singh Jamwal has impressed upon the teachers and the student community to seek redressal of their grievances, if any, by taking legal resource, as law violation can lead people in trouble. The students must respect the Constitution, follow their fundamental duties and respect to follow each and every law, he added. He was addressing two separate functions after launching the second phase of Project ‘SAFE J&K’ at Government Higher Secondary Schools Nagrota and Dansal. Over one thousand students, hundreds of teachers from adjoining government schools and prominent citizens of these were also present at these meetings. On this occasion, he also administered an oath to about 1,000 students that ‘they would strive to be lawful, peace loving citizens and would never indulge in any criminal activity throughout their life’. Jamwal also urged upon the teaching community to impart some basic legal knowledge to the students and make them realize their responsibilities towards a healthy and prosperous nation. Advocate Balbir Singh Manhas, who is also the Advisor of the Society, apprised the students about the ill effects of drugs and said that alcohol, smoking and use of drugs take the youngsters towards the path of crime, where it is difficult to return back. Suresh Sharma Secretary of the Society said that the students must follow the path of righteousness shown by the great leaders, while Mandeep Reen urged the girl students to fight against any sort of illegal act towards them. The meeting at Nagrota was organized by Rameshwar Dutt ex-Sarpanch, while Dansal meeting was organized by Ajay Sharma, a youth activist from the area. |
