| Court Granted bail to Ex-MLA involved in Cheating Case | | | Jammu, August, 25:- Chief Judicial Magistrate Jammu Mr. Sanjay Dhar today granted bail to Prem Lal Ex-MLA Hiranagar, who is allegedly involved in cheating case investigated by Vigilance Organization.
Mr. Prem Lal Ex-MLA today surrendered before the Court of CJM for obtaining bail. CJM admitted him on bail on his furnishing bail bond and surety bond to the tune of Rs 20, 000/- each and directed the investigating agency not arrest him provided he is not involved in any other. Court also directed accused Prem Lal to co-operate with the Investigating Agency and not to temper with the prosecution witnesses.
According to the case that on October 6, 2000, present case was registered at Police Station Bakshi Nagar Jammu on a written complaint lodged by one Subash Chander Gupta. In which it has been alleged that one Dharam Vir in active connivance with the then MLA Domana Mr. Sat Pal Lakhotra and Mr. Prem Lal the then MLA Hiranagar have load the innocent people of Bakshi Nagar area Resham Ghar, Krishna Nagar, Canal Road and Rajpura, during the year of 1999. The complainant has alleged that Dharam Vir along with above named MLAs used to visit Puran Bhagat Temple Bakshi Nagar Jammu that the alleged persons promised the complainant and others to provide Govt jobs and interest free loan to the un-employed youths of the area. Thus by means of corruption and cheating the accused in connivance with MLAs has taken hefty amounts from them on account of providing Govt jobs. But no Govt job was provided to them. Upon this the case was registered u/s 420,467, 468 RPC. Vide Govt order dated April 21, 2004 the case was transferred from Bakshi Nagar Police Station to Vigilance Organization for further investigation.
During the investigation conducted by Vigilance Organization the witnesses re-examined and their statements were recorded. The Photostat copy of appointment order of Sarita Jamwal was got verified from the Director Social Welfare Jammu. The Director Social Welfare Jammu vide his office letter dated November 23, 2005 has intimated that the appointment order mentioned has not been issued from the office concerned nor any person of such name has ever been appointed in the Social Welfare.
According to the Vigilance Organization Investigation that on the eve of Shivratri March 1999 when many people have gathered in the temple premises to celebrate the Shivratri festival, the accused Satpal, Prem Lal the then MLAs and their so called private secretaries Dharam Vir also visited the temple, the accused Satpal hosted the flag in the temple and thereafter accused addressed the gathering enticed the people and unemployed educated youth regarding provided of interest free loan and Govt employment. In this regard they have taken an amount of Rs 3,70,000 in cash and golden ornaments worth Rs 55,000/-. During the course of investigation it has been found that accused persons have taken money from the complainant and others in association of each-other individually while having frequent visit to the temple. The VO from the investigation conducted into the matter exposed the accused and established that accused are involved u/s 420, 120-B RPC.
