A 16-member senior state Korfball team today left for the National Korfball Championship to be held at Gurgaon in Haryana from February 12 to February 16, under the banner of Jammu and Kashmir Korfball Association,.
“The team is well prepared for the challenge ahead and I’m sure the young side would find place among the first three positions this time. Last year, J&K had lost in the semi-finals narrowly,” giving details about the preparations of the team for the competition ahead, general secretary of the Association, Manjit Singh told SAN.
The team: Manjit Singh, Irfan Choudhary, Amit Sharma, Ashwani Sharma, Inderpal Singh, Jahangir Ahmed, Halil Ahmed Bhat, Anandeep Singh, Shefali, Nishu Bhat, Meenakshi, Riya Salathia, Aakanksha, Shazee Akhtar, Dilshada Akhtar and Parveena Akhtar. Tarandeep Singh and Manjit Singh are accompanying the team as manager and coach respectively. |
