| Bar Association Jammu called off two months long strike | | | Jammu, August, 25:- Bar Association Jammu today in a General House Meeting held under the chairmanship of its president Mr. Ved Raj Wazir, unanimously decided that the verdict of Supreme Court where the case of persons involved is listed on August 28, 2006 is the law of the land and binding as the citizens of India and therefore, to call of the strike from Tuesday, August 29, 2006, which started June 29, 2006 for transfer of the much publicized sex-scandal case from Srinagar Court to Jammu Court or any other Court of the country.
According to the Secretary Bar Association Abhinav Sharma that the verdict of
Apex Court is binding on all authorities including the Bar Association Jammu and Bar Association Jammu has highest regards for the Supreme Court of India and its verdicts.
In the meeting all proceedings which have been discussed with Chief Minister, Transport Minister and Chief Justice of the state High Court. The Bar Association Jammu today thanks the Chamber of Commerce Jammu, Transporters, Traders Federation and all the associations of the Bazaar and Bar Associations of Jammu Divisions for their support and call for the Jammu Bandh given on August 11, 2006. It is pertinent to mention here that according to the Bar Association Jammu, the Chief Minister principally agreed that the demand of Jammu Bar is Justified and genuine in view of the prevailing atmosphere in the Valley.
Now the persons involved in the case approached the Supreme Court of India and matter is listed on August 28, 2006 and the verdict of Apex is binding on all and in the light of this situation, Bar Association Jammu decided to call off their two months ongoing strike from August 29, 2006. |
