| President Cup: Arafat scripts YCC’s 8-wkt win | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Feb 12 A stunning knock of 71 runs by Arafat Goni today guided Youth Cricket Club (YCC) Bhaderwah to an eight-wicket victory over Srinagar based Whites Cricket Club (WCC) in the ongoing President Cup Cricket Tournament at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here. Studded with nine boundaries, Arafat’s unbeaten knock not only scripted YCC win but also guided the team to quarterfinals of the knock-out limited over competition organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA). Earlier, batting first after winning the toss, WCC Srinagar lost all their wickets for 125 runs in 31.4 over of the 40-over game, which, in reply, YCC chased in mere 21.3 over for the loss of two wickets. Rahul Choudhary was highest run-getter with 41 including two boundaries while Jorawar contributed 43 (4x4). From YCC, Majid and Aman took three wickets each while Muizz bagged two. Later, YCC chased the target rather easily, courtesy Arafat Goni, who played quick-fire innings of 71 (9x4) not out as opener. Mudassir also played well contributing 32 runs to the team’s total with the help of five fours. Mahavir was the wicket taker from WCC.
