| PDP for early disbursement of relief to snow victims | | | Early Times Reporter

General Secretary People’s Democratic Party Shri. Daman Bhasin has urged for immediate disbursement of relief to the victims of recent heavy snowfall in Udhampur, Reasi, Rajouri and Poonch Districts.
In a statement issued here today, Daman Bhasin castigated the administration for providing compensation to the victims in Udhampur and Reasi on the basis of ration card of 2001 saying that it was a clear violation of the norms and an act amounting to the discrimination of the sufferers. Daman Bhasin who was apprised by dozens of delegations who met him here at Party Headquarters, said that free ration for three months should be provided to every ration card holder in the twin districts of Udhampur and Reasi and added that government should immediately conduct a survey in Poonch and Rajouri districts to asses the loss caused to life and property in the twin districts and should ensure free ration for three month to the sufferers.
Daman Bhasin latter on met several Ministers and apprised them about the situation. Shri. Bhasin was assured by the Ministers that appropriate action will be initiated in this direction to redress the genuine grievances of the sufferers. |
