| ITI electricians make abortive attempt to gheroa civil Sect. | | | Early Times Reporter

The striking ITI electricians on Wednesday made an abortive attempt to gheroa Civil Secretariat to press their demand for their absorption on Rehaber –e- Taleem pattern in the Power Department.
Sitting on dharna for the last 315 days, the ITI diploma holders organized a rally under the aegis of All Jammu and Kashmir Unemployed ITI Electricians Association to highlight their demand of absorption in state Power Development department on Rehber pattern.
Hundreds of protesting youth in form of a procession proceeded towards the Civil Secretariat in a bid to gheroe the complex to press their demand. The police at city Chowk, however, stopped them from proceeding towards Secretariat Complex.
The rally started from Mubarak Mandi Complex and passing through main markets of Kachi Chawani and Parade marched towards the Secretariat. The protesting youth were however stopped by police at City Chowk where from they dispersed peacefully.
Earlier the president of the Association Rakesh Sharma while addressing the youth said that the Association would continue its agitation till the government concedes their demands. He also accused the Chief Minister of not keeping his promises of giving due consideration to their demand which he made at the meetings with the Association representatives. |
