| Bar welcomes CJ, J&K High Court | | | Early Times Reporter

Bar Association of Jammu headed by its president Mr. B. S. Slathia formally welcomed Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir High Court Mr. Justice K. S. Radhakrishnan for assuming the charge of Chief Justice recently at an impressive function held here today.
Bar Association President in his welcome address apprised Chief Justice of various problems confronting Bar.
Slathia demanded enforcement of Jammu and Kashmir Advocates Welfare Fund Act 1997, as it has not been notified till date by the state government.
Besides, he impressed upon Chief Justice to take Bar into confidence at the time of convening Mega Lok Adalat as president Bar Association Jammu and Kashmir are ex-officio members of the Committee.
Responding to the demands of Bar Association, Chief Justice said that state government has to notify Jammu and Kashmir Advocates Welfare Fund Act 1997. He however, assured that in future Bar shall be taken into confidence during Mega Lok Adalat programme.
Among others the function was attended by Advocate General Mr. Altaf Naik, Mr. D. K. Khajuria, Mr. Ved Raj Wazir, Mr. Suneel Sethi and Mr. C. M. Sharma. |
