BIG FM holds “BIG FEVER”
Inter - college ‘Music and Theatre Festival’ begins

BIG 92.7 FM, India’s No. 1 FM Station has come together with the ‘J&K Art and Culture Academy (’ and ‘Medical College of Jammu’ and organized an inter-college ‘Music and Theatre Festival’ which started today and would continue till 15th Feb 08. The festival also is being organized in association with Airtel. This 3 day long college festival will have more than 200 students participating in various contest categories like – mimicry, skits, Indian solo music, western solo music and western group music.
At the first day of the mega-event, Mangat Ram Sharma Minister for Health and Education (J&K), who was the Chief Guest was present to grace the occasion. The event got an over-whelming response with youngsters pouring – in from across the city to witness and be a part of this festival.
Mangat while speaking on the occasion said that that such programmes would act as a catalyst to strengthen the bonds of people with diverse cultures and depict the values of our rich cultural heritage. He said besides this the competitive activities included in the festival would imbibe the spirit of co-curricular activities among the youth. He said by organizing such festivals the hidden potential of the youth gets polished and emboldens the artistic activities of the youth.
The Minister appreciated the efforts put in by the organizers for conducting such festivals by which the youth get opportunities to present their skillful activities on the stage.
Speaking on the occasion, Secretary J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Language Dr. Rafiq Masoodi said that our state has rich cultural heritage and to keep it alive the academy plays its important role by organizing cultural festivals across the state. He said by organizing the festivals, the academy also exposes the hidden talent present among the youth and gives it proper shape
Speaking on the occasion, Jagmeet Singh Bahri, Cluster Head- J & K, BIG 92.7 FM said “We have got an over-whelming response from the youth of Jammu as they are pouring in to be a part of this colourfulcolorful festival. We are hopeful that we would be able to provide non-stop entertainment to not only the students but also to all the listeners who would be hearing us in the next three days. I am grateful to all our associates who have supported us in organizing this event.”
The youth of various schools and colleges presented skillful activities including Hindi Solo, Mimicry, Skit, and Western Solo in the opening ceremony of the function.
Principals GMC College Dr. Rajinder Singh, Director Health Services Jammu Dr. Jasbir Singh, Principal Dental College Jammu Dr. Mela Ram, Heads of various faculty of GMC, , Marketing Manager Airtel Amit Malhotra, prominent citizens and students of GMC and other colleges were present on the occasion.
