| Railway passengers highlight plight to Lalu | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Feb 13 The regular passengers between Udhampur and Jammu stations, who feels harassed in the wake of unsuitable train timings, today lodged their protest with the Union Minister for Railways, Lalu Parsad Yadav. Failing in their attempts to convince the authorities concerned at Jammu and Udhampur regarding inconvenience caused by the `unfair’ timings of the train service between two stations, these passangers have also dispached the letters to officers concerned at Jammu and Ferozpur in Punjab. “We had left with no other option but to brief the Union Railways Minister of the plight we are undergoing for the last some time,” said Ashok Kumar, one of the 30 joint signatories on the letter addressed to Lalu Parsad Yadav. Alleging malafied intention on part of the concerned Railway authorities, another passenger said, “I think there is a nexus between the transporters and the Railway authorities because of the fact that the unsuitable train timings actually suits to the bus operators plying between two stations”. The letter written to the Railway Minister also sought an inquiry into the whole matter and action against officials responsible for the undue harassment to the regular passengers. |
