| Dental Surgeons interview postponed twice | | Aspiring students curse administration | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Feb 13 The aspiring Dental Surgeons had to cut a sorry figure and go empty hands again as the authorities, who had earlier fixed their interview for filling the posts of Dental surgeons on contractual basis for today, was abruptly postponed. This postponement of interview second time in a row led to protest demonstration by the aspiring candidates. The protesting candidates alleged that the government has made a mockery of its own decisions and seems little concerned about the future of the educated unemployed youth. The government had issued a notification on January 11, 2008 for filling up six posts of Dental surgeons on contractual basis. The candidates who had applied for the post had come from far off places to appear in the interview fixed for February 7 but to their dismay and surprise, on reaching to the venue of the interview i.e. Samba, they were left high and dry when the authorities told them that the interview has been postponed for February 13. Today on reaching for the interview and waiting for three long hours, no interview was conducted. The candidates were told that the interview has again been postponed and will now be held from February 25 at the same place and at the same timings. The reasons for postponing the interviews, twice has not only caused great inconvenience to the candidates but has given rise to the suspicion about the fairness of the selection. Talking to this reporter some of the candidates said “We are being harassed without any reason. We are totally exhausted now and have fallen short of money. We are not in a position to go back to our places and cursed the authorities for its lackluster attitude towards the candidates’. If the authorities had to postponement the interview they should have informed the aspiring candidates well in time, they maintained. |
