| Classical dance festival concludes | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Feb 14
On the concluding day of four day classical dance and music festival organized by J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages in collaboration with NZCC the students of Salwan Public School New Delhi and students of Institute of Music and Fine Arts, Jammu performed Santoor and Sitar. Mangat Ram Sharma, Minister for Health and Medical Education was the Chief Guest while Dr. Rafeeq Masoodi, Secretary Academy of Art Culture and Languages was also present on the occasion. Mangat while speaking on the occasion appreciated the students of Salwan Public School New Delhi and Institute of Music and Fine Arts, Jammu for their superb presentation on Santoor and Sitar respectively. He also had all praise for Rohit Sharma young artist of Jammu for his solo presentation on Santoor. He congratulated Masoodi for the success of this classical dance and Music festival. Earlier while welcoming the audience and distinguished guests Masoodi said that this classical dance festival has its own importance not only because of the artists of national and international repute performed but also because the local artists ably succeeded to dominate by their excellent presentations. He also highlighted the coming programmes of the Academy. Rajni Sharma conducted the proceedings of the programme while Shamima Akhter presented vote of thanks. Two minutes silence was observed for the suddenly demise of Rattan Kalsi, a radio and theatre artist.
