| CCI holds interaction with RBI director discuss problems | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Feb 14
The members of Chamber of Commerce for Industry (CCI) during an interactive session with the regional director Reserve Bank of India, O.P. Aggarwal here today brought to his notice as number of problems being faced by the customers pertaining to banking services in the state. Speaking on the occasion, the President CCI, Ram Sahai said, that banks operating in the state are not providing concessions in the true letter and spirit. He said, the union finance minister has directed all the CMD’s of the banks to make disbursement of loan amounting to Rs. Five lakhs, but various bank take lot of time, putting people to grant in-convenience. He said, there are complaints against some bank managers, who discourage and create problems for the party. He urged upon the higher authorities that clear instructions should be passed to all concern officials to behave properly with the customers. Sahai further said, that draft charges are being changed by some banks on any where banking cheques, which is grave injustice on the part of banks and should be waived off, with immediate effect and added cheque charges be reduced and rationalized, beside, Micro-Cheques collections should be made available on line. He also demanded that micro loaning system be simplified for small traders and be provide immediately. ATM counters should be opened at transport nagar area for the traders so as to avail the facility. He said, there is a dearth of new currency notes and coins in the market, he urged that coin dispensers be installed at various bank branches and post offices of the city which will facilitate the customers. He on the occasion requested the Director Aggarwal that procedure be made result oriented and beneficial for both business community and banking industry.
