Maj Gen Nilendra Kumar visits RS Pura College

R.S Pura, May 24: Major Gen. Nilendra Kumar ADG, NCC Dte J&K, Jammu accompanied by Group Commandant Brig. Sanjay Kadian and Commanding Officer Col. RK Sharma visited Government Degree College, RS Pura. He was welcomed by Principal Prof. Kalpana Kesar, NCC Coordinator Prof. Bindu Kumari and NCC Incharge Prof. Shaveta Chowdhary.
He interacted with the principal and staff regarding the working of NCC in general and the college in particular. The interaction was followed by the plantation of sapling in the college as a mark of promoting 'Clean India, Green India'. ADG and his team also visited the college NCC office.
Formal welcome address and NCC Activity Report was presented by Prof. Bindu Kumari after the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. NCC cadets presented a cultural programme which included a patriotic song and a skit on the theme "Swachh Bharat".
In his address, the ADG emphasised upon the importance of creative thinking and brain storming. He also informed about the future prospects of joining NCC.
Principal, Kalpana Kesar presented a memento to the ADG. SUO Naresh Kumar of 2 J&K Boys Batallion NCC and JUO Anamika Sharma of 2 J&K Girls Bn NCC, Jammu were adjudged the Best cadets for the session 2017-18.
All the outgoing cadets were presented certificates of appreciation by the honourable ADG. The programme concluded with the formal vote of thanks by Prof. Shaveta Chowdhary, NCC Incharge.
