Rehari Club wins by spin of coin in President Cup

Winning the match by spin of coin, Rehari Cricket Club (RCC) today made it into the quarterfinals beating University of Jammu (JU) XI in the ongoing President Cup Cricket Tournament at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here.
Finding the game tied, the organizing committee under the leadership of joint secretary of Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) Jammu wing, Sunit Sharma considered the average but only to again find it equal.
Ultimately, applying the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) rules, the organizers decided the fate of the match by spin of coin. In the process, RCC won the toss and the match thereby finding berth in the quarterfinals of the tournament.
Earlier, batting first after winning the toss, RCC bowled out for 136 runs in 38.5 over. In reply, JU XI too lost all their wickets at a same score in 39.5 over.
Anil Balgotra was top scorer from RCC with 33 runs including four boundaries while Shahjad contributed 22 and Ram Dayal 12. From JU XI, Amit Baloria took four wickets for 36 runs in 6.5 over while Ashwani bowled economical taking three wickets for 20 runs in eight over. Samiullah bagged two.
Batting second, JU XI was in a winning position but the fall of their last wicket in the second last delivery of the innings left the match undecided. Vimarsh Kaw played heroic innings of 40 runs including one six and four boundaries while Atul Singh made 15.
Skipper of J&K under-19 team, Ram Dayal clinched four wickets for 24 runs in eight overs, followed by Ashwani Gupta two and Anoop Mangotra, who shared two each.
