Jammu | Feb 15
In yet another effort towards spreading goodwill and awareness in the insurgency ridden areas of Gul, Gulabgarh and Mahor, a group of 30 elders, including Sarpanches, Naib Sarpanches and Maulvis set out for a 15 days dream tour to Ambala, Shimla, Chandigarh, Dehradun and Amritsar. The tour aims at exploring parts of our country that exist beyond confines of their own abode in the rural J&K. The tour is being organized by Rashtriya Rifles Uniform Force as part of Operation Sadbhavana.
The tour was flagged off from Reasi today. Speaking on the occasion, the Commanding Officer of RR Unit conducting the tour emphasized the need for people to shed their inhibitions and join hands in ushering in a new era of peace and development. He highlighted the ongoing programmes under Operation Sadbhavana towards better education and health in remote areas. The tour party will return on 29 February 2008.
