| Khour to be linked with motorable bridge via Pargwal: Tara Chand | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Feb 15 Speaker Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Tara Chand has highlighted the achievements of Government and said that Azad led government does not believe in hollow slogans but believes in action on ground. He said that massive development has taken place on all fronts during the last five years and people can feel make the difference of development scenario on ground between the present and previous regimes, the Speaker added. The Speaker was addressing a largely attended public meeting at village Narsingpura-Pargwal in Khour block the other day. Mr. Tara Chand said that government is committed to provide improved basic facilities to the people of State especially of rural areas for which a number of programmes have been introduced. During the last five years, the Education, Road, Health, Power and Social Welfare sectors have received focused attention of the Government and lot of work has been done under these sectors. He said education and road were vital sectors for the development of areas and government has connected most of the areas with road links and opened a large number of schools, colleges to ensure better education to children at their nearby destination, the Speaker maintained. Mr. Tara Chand appraised the gathering that a proposal for construction of motorable bridge over Chenab River connecting Pargwal with Khour is under the active consideration of Government, which is the long pending demand of the area. Similarly, a proposal for setting up a separate grid station for Pargwal area to improve the power scenario is also pending with the Government. Akhnoor's second bridge is ready for inauguration, which would ease traffic load of the existing one-way bridge, he added. |
